Peter Watson

Chief Financial Officer & Investment Manager

A passion for making a difference and helping capital invest toward a better future led Peter to join the New Ground team in 2018. 

Peter started his career with the Inland Revenue before spending time in Europe, residing in Scotland, Denmark and Germany while completing his undergraduate degree. 

On returning to NZ, he worked for Ernst Young in Auckland, in both the Audit and Transactions teams.  While at EY he completed his Chartered Accountant qualification and also gained a post graduate Diploma in Business.

Now as the CFO and Investment Manager at New Ground, his role is broad and involves not only overseeing the financial management of New Ground and its various subsidiary and associated entities, but also as a key member of the management teams of our impact funds.
